What is Neck Pain?
Neck pain can cause intense suffering and make it difficult to carry out normal tasks. Cervical radiculopathy is most important cause of neck pain. Cervical radiculopathy occurs when a nerve root is compressed or impeded, leading to pain that can spread beyond the neck and into the arm, chest, shoulders, and upper back. Most symptoms can be treated with supportive care. Another important cause of neck pain is myofascial pain. Myofascial pain is felt in the region of a muscle and the fascia. Pain can be acute or chronic and likely occurs due to overuse, postural changes, or muscle trauma.

Back pain is one of the most common causes for which patients seek emergency care. People of any age can present with back pain.
